According to Mundo Deportivo, Atlético are considering Arouna Koné as a replacement for Falcao. His contract with Sevilla is ending, but he's likely to sign with Levante who would sell him to another club. His price would be around 6 million. Espanyol are also interested.

Alejandro Gomez's agent reveals Inter and Atletico Madrid interest
The Argentine midfielder is highly coveted in Europe, with the Nerazzurri and los Rojiblancos having already expressed an interest, according to his representative

Inter and Atletico Madrid are both interested in Catania midfielder Alejandro 'Papu' Gomez, his agent has revealed.

The 24-year-old Argentine has established himself as a key member at Catania since he joined the club from San Lorenzo in 2010 in a €3 million deal.

Gomez's representative says that exploratory talks with the Nerazzurri have already taken place, but admits there are more clubs interested in his client.

"He is ready to play at a big club, considering that he has been doing well at Catania in the last two years," Leonardo Rodriguez told Itasportpress.

"I spoke with Inter sporting director Marco Branca 10 days ago and he showed interest in my client.

"But there are other clubs in Italy, and also in Spain, who want Gomez.

"Atletico Madrid are one of them, since Diego Simeone coached him at San Lorenzo and Catania.

"I think [Gomez will leave Catania], even though I will have to talk about it with the new sporting director, Sergio Gasparin."

Spaniens Nationaltrainer Vincente del Bosque seinen vorläufigen 21-Mann-Kader für die Fußball-Europameisterschaft bekannt gegeben.

Del Bosque nominierte dabei in seinem ersten Aufgebot keinen Spieler, der mit seinem Verein noch ein Endspiel bestreiten darf. Darunter fallen unter anderem die Profis des FC Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao und des FC Chelsea.

Für Atlético Madrid und die Spieler Juanfran, Domínguez und Adrián hingegen bedeutet dieser Umstand das erstmalige hineinrutschen in den Kader der "La Roja". Die Rojiblancos sind somit seit Jahren mal wieder die ersten Atlético-Madrid Spieler in der spanischen Nationalmannschaft.

According to AS, French international striker Olivier Giroud is the number one option to replace Falcao if he leaves. Giroud has scored 21 goals for Montpellier this season and they are very close to wining the Ligue 1 title. Caminero has followed him for some time now and his asking price would be around 20 million. Bayern München are also after him.

Nach dem Abpfiff in der Nationalarena von Bukarest gab es für die Spieler kein Halten mehr. Nachdem UEFA Präsident Michel Platini den Spielern ihre Medaillen und die herbeigesehnte Trophäe überreicht hatte, feierten Mannschaft und Betreuerstab ausgelassen mit den Fans auf dem Feld. Während die meisten Fans nun die Rückreise ins heimische Madrid antraten, kehrte Atleti noch einmal in das Intercontinental Hotel von Bukarest zurück und feierte beim Abendessen noch den Gewinn des Titels, bevor man sich – mit nur 2 Stunden Schlaf dazwischen – um 11:05 (10:05 spanischer Zeit) auf den Weg gen Heimat aufmachte.

Doch keiner der Spieler ließ sich die Müdigkeit anmerken. Noch im Flieger forderten die Spieler Diego zum Verbleib bei Atleti auf (es sollte nicht das letzte Mal an diesem Tag sein). Begrüßt wurden die Spieler in Madrid von einem Bodenpersonal welches ihnen die Hymne sang und ein Auge auf die Trophäe geworfen hatte. Unter frenetischem Jubel der am Flughafen schon wartenden Fans, ging es dann zurück in die Stadt, wo die Spieler ein paar Stündchen Pause machen durften, bevor man sich um 16:30 gemeinsam im Calderón traf, um von dort auf die große Tour durch Madrid zu starten.

Senna: Atleti clash most important yet

Villarreal’s Marcos Senna says Sunday’s final game of the season against Atletico Madrid at El Madrigal is the most important of his club career.

The Yellow Submarine are still fighting for their Primera Liga lives and need a draw to stay up without relying on others, while Atleti need all three points to qualify for the Champions League if Malaga fail to beat Sporting Gijon at La Rosaleda.

“Without doubt this is the most important game of my career at club level,” the Brazilian-born Spanish international told a Press conference. “It is a very important match for everybody, given what we are playing for.”

In addition, Senna maintains his team will be going onto the pitch with the idea of winning the game and not playing for the draw that will guarantee them safety.

“We will go out to win and will not gamble because when you do that you lose, particularly against a team such as Atletico who usually score. What we have is the advantage of being more rested, playing at home and having a lot more to play for than them,” he insisted, before warning against the danger of in-form Colombian hitman Radamel Falcao and the fact Diego Simeone is the man in charge of Villarreal’s opponents.

“Falcao is a great player, a matador, who we are already aware of and has proven what he is capable of doing,” he said. “But knowing Simeone, who recognises his team can reach the Champions League, it is clear he will be coming here to take the points."
